Accessing Student and/or Public List Email Addresses From Within Outlook 2010
Setting up the connection to our additional LDAP Directory
1. Go to 'File'
2. Go to 'Info'
3. Go to 'Account Settings' and select 'Account Settings' from the drop down menu.
4. Make sure 'Internet Directory Service (LDAP)' is selected
5. Enter 'addressbook.woodlandschools.org' (without quotes) for the Server Name, then click on 'More Settings...'
6. Click 'OK' to the notice that pops up

For student addresses: On the Connection tab enter and something like 'Students' for the Display name, leave the port number as it is. On the search tab enter the following for the Search base "Custom:" (cut & paste the following in the box)
ou=Student,ou=WSD People,dc=woodlandschools,dc=org

For the public list addresses: On the Connection tab enter and something like 'Public Lists' for the Display name, leave the port number as it is. On the search tab enter the following for the Search base "Custom:" (cut & paste the following in the box)
ou=Public,ou=WSD Groups,dc=woodlandschools,dc=org
To find an E-mail Address
1a. When sending a message click on the 'To...' button and then select 'Students' (or whatever you've called it in 7 above) from the 'Address Book' option list, and then enter your search term.

Or under 'Advanced Find' just to the right of the Address book list enter more details and see what is found
