Email Use - Internal/External

Spam Circulation

Please do not circulate spam or chain letters internally or externally. This is in violation of District policy. If you feel that an item would be beneficial to others, please call the Technology Department. We will verify the validity of the email and then send it out from our department – if appropriate.

All Staff Group Email

Please reserve the "all staff" mailing group for district-wide notifications of district relevent information. You may use your building group email address for building-wide notifications relating to your building.

REMEMBER: Using the "all staff" email group to circulate chain letters or spam is against policy.

Email Attachments

ONLY Office documents, PDFs and .JPEG picture files are allowed to pass through our firewall and received into your inbox. All other attachments will be blocked (i.e. .zip files, .wav, etc). If you are expecting a document with an attachment, please be sure that it is in the format of one of the above. If it is not, ask your sender to send it using one of the above formats.

Email Attachment Size

There is a 2Meg size limit for allowed attachments received into your inbox. If a sender is trying to send you something larger and they are receiving an email error indicating "size limitations" or that "box is full", call the helpdesk and we will work with the sender in getting this information to you. These limitations are "best practice" standards put into place to help limit a spammer from sending "oversize" messages.
