Perform the following steps to wirelessly connect a work laptop computer to your home Internet service provider.
These instructions are for Windows XP computers.
Establish a wireless connection to your wireless router at home:
- start button
- →control panel
- →network connections
- →double-click wireless network connections
- →select your home wireless network
- type in your home wireless connection “network key” in the dialog box
This should connect you to your network at home.
To surf the web do the following:

Firefox has been set up correctly it will work at home without any adjustments. If you need to use
Internet Explorer do the following:
- Open IE browser
- Select Tools→internet options from the menu bar
- Select the “connections” tab
- Select “LAN settings” button near the bottom
- Under the “proxy server” settings, uncheck the box labeled “use a proxy server”
- Select “ok” to close that dialog box
- Select “ok” again to close the other dialog box
- You should now be able to surf the internet.
